I've used these on the front wheels of my front-wheel-drive car several times over the past year without any problems. I get noticeably better traction and handling on snow, ice and slush. We live on a steep hill and I haven't had to park at the bottom and walk up since buying these. Four stars because they will corrode if left wet. Practice fitting these before you need them and note how many notches it takes to tighten. Turning the wheels out full lock each way helps too when installing to make it easier to attach the inside. I wear suede gloves to keep my hands from freezing. No chain tighteners are needed and they don't scratch alloy wheels.
